Fieber festival (Germany)

When I received the invitation to participate in this festival, I was beyond excited and immediately reached out to the organizers, asking if I could create some paper sculptures.

I had been dreaming of this idea since 2011, when I collaborated with the Hylas Boys—an incredibly talented group immersed in the world of stop-motion films. They helped me bring a video interview to life, which was made up of multiple scenes shot in various locations. We even added an animated sequence by another illustrator to depict a Tibetan dance.

But, to get to the point: in one of the scenes, I designed a paper diorama that mimicked the jungle, and this idea stayed with me ever since. I knew I would eventually bring it to life in human size.  So, when the opportunity for this show came, I gave it a shot. Unfortunately, the time constraints (only a couple of days to prepare) and the exhibition’s theme (which didn’t quite align with my fantasy jungle vision) kept me from fully realizing it.

However, this is definitely something I’ll explore in my solo shows in the future, and I can’t wait to dive deeper into it!
