Skull a Day |  International Museum of Surgical Science

Skull-A-Day and StreetAnatomy have joined forces to bring together the greatest collection of skull art, to celebrate the 3rd Annual Skull Appreciation Day! 

The resulting exhibition of skull inspired art works co-curated by Noah Scalin and Vanessa Ruiz will be on view at the International Museum of Surgical Science, in Chicago May 31 – August 25, 2013.

Created as part of a commission for the Nucleus Gallery for the show Hollow Thoughts in june.

For the past few years, I’ve been captivated by artworks made from or incorporating real hair. I can’t quite remember when I first encountered such pieces, but ever since, I’ve been reflecting on the possibility of incorporating hair into my own work.  So, over the past few weeks, I’ve been collecting my own hair to create this piece..

Vanitas Vanitatum, Omnia Vanitas “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.”

The word vanitas is Latin, meaning "emptiness" and corresponds to the meaninglessness of earthly life and the transient nature of all things. Ecclesiastes 1:2 from the Bible is the source of this notion . Vanitas themes were common in medieval funerary art, with most surviving examples in sculpture . Paintings executed in the vanitas style are meant as a reminder of the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death .

I’m so excited to share that FlashGib invited me to be part of the amazing Formaganda convention this year! 

FlashGib will be showcasing works from various artists, including mine, at Formaganda in Berlin. The event brings together a mix of creatives, from illustrators to skaters to DJs, with galleries, unique shops, and plenty of opportunities to explore new art, music, and culture. With such a wide variety of activities and a great atmosphere, Formaganda is definitely one of the most exciting events this year, and I'm really happy to be involved!

The Flashgib is a multifunctional flagship store inviting selected artists and brands to showcase the products of their creativity. It’s also a space for inspiration, and a place where unique-minded individuals can buy fashion and lifestyle goods.

Formaganda is a convention that brings together artists, designers, and creatives from all over. It features a variety of galleries, workshops, and shops where visitors can explore and purchase unique works.

Paper Cut" features a wide range of artworks inspired by paper and scissors. I am honored to have been invited by Compound Gallery to join this group show alongside these amazing artists

Paper Girl Exhibition (Germany)

Just a reminder, the Papergirl show opened its doors on Sunday. Here are some photos from the opening night—it was an amazing evening!

Papergirl is a community-driven street art project that originated in Berlin in 2006 and has since spread to cities around the world. The project involves collecting artwork from the local creative community, exhibiting it, and then distributing it—rolled up and delivered by bicycle, much like American paperboys—into the hands of random passers-by in city centers. 

Papergirl was conceived as a response to the criminalization of posting art in public spaces in Berlin. Since placarding is a core element of urban art, local artist Aisha Ronniger created this alternative method of sharing art in public spaces, ensuring that it reaches a diverse audience without targeting any specific demographic. In this way, Papergirl revives the tradition of random distribution, reminiscent of newspaper delivery from past decades.

Design Walk Festival (Greece)

13 Graphic Design Studios resolve 13 contradictory elements within the creative process.

The walk takes place in the vibrant area of the city next to the Acropolis, leading the visitor between cult shops and hip bars to discover works by award-winning graphic designers, in one of the most inspiring neighbourhoods in Europe, where ancient Greece, West, East,yesterday and tomorrow meet. 

For the 2010 walk, double decker , the London-based curatingagency, is challenging 13 Graphic Design Studios to create a piece of work inspired by thecontradictions / oppositions with which every designer has to deal, and which arise from fundamental questions in design methodology.

The resulting exhibition, POLES APART, will give a unique visual insight into the creative process – as well as its curious contradictions.

Curvy Book x Yen magazine (Australia)

 Yen Magazine, an Australian publication, emailed me to let me know that my artwork was selected for Curvy, their annual all-female art book. I was totally surprised because it was my first time submitting my work to them, and I knew that many girls had been trying for years. I was happy and thrilled to make it into this year's book.

If you're not familiar with Curvy, it's a showcase of some of the best female artists from around the world. It's where I've found some of my favourite artists, and this year looks to be another treasure trove of artistic finds, including Fumi Nakamura, Kelly Thompson, and many more.

My First Collective Exhibition (Germany)

I’m finally taking the big step and participating in a collective exhibition! To be honest, I’m a bit nervous, as it will be the first time I’m showing one of my works to the public.

The Concept of  "ANONYMOUS DRAWINGS / ANONYME ZEICHNER"

How are our judgements about art affected by our knowledge of the artist’s name and background? How is the value of a drawing determined? Where is the boundary between art and non-art?

Around 700 drawings by 700 international artists are featured in each exhibition of ANONYMOUS DRAWINGS. The works are presented with no mention of authorship or title.
