Nepenthes, commonly known as pitcher plants, are a genus of carnivorous plants found primarily in tropical regions.

They attract and trap insects and small animals with nectar and vibrant colors. The inside of the pitcher is slippery, causing prey to fall into the digestive fluid. Nepenthes can be found in a variety of habitats, including rainforests, heath forests, and mossy mountains.
