Antoine Jacquard

Antoine Jacquard was a French artist who worked primarily as an engraver and printmaker. His exact birth and death dates are not fully documented, but he was active during the early 17th century and is often associated with the period known as the Baroque. The Baroque period was a time of dramatic expression in art, and Jacquard’s engravings reflect that sense of detail and intricacy.

His illustrations were typically created for books and scientific works, as well as religious texts. He worked on a variety of commissions, producing plates for a number of different publishers and artists. His engravings were often highly detailed, serving as an essential part of the visual culture of the time.
