The Tree Of Life

Tree of Life

The Tree of Life in Bahrain is one of the world’s enduring mysteries and a must-see landmark when visiting this Middle Eastern country. This four-century-old mesquite tree survives in the heart of the desert, making its existence all the more remarkable.

The tree's ability to thrive in such harsh conditions has fueled its legendary status. Visitors from across the Middle East and around the globe come to witness this natural marvel. The name "Tree of Life" is truly fitting, as it symbolizes the enduring power of life in the most unlikely of places.

According to local legend, the site where the tree stands is believed to be the location of the Garden of Eden. Situated about 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) from Jebel Dukhan, the tree stands alone in the desert, a solitary green spot amidst the surrounding white sands.

Due to its remote location, there are few signs of habitation nearby, further emphasizing the tree's isolation in the vast desert landscape.
