Well ...what  can i say ...i have entered in this contest with the last strength of my dying motivation , pushed by some respectable dinosaurs who have decided in a Machiavellian way to motivate me ....I agree , it was my dream to live my life in that way ..as an Illustrator like "they say " ..... something that i dont really feel  till now  , even if the people say that ..even if you say that  ..i dont believe  !!
In some words , what is happening in the last time , is far of all the expectations  i imagined  when i came here to Berlin ..

they sent this to me ..and after read few times this short lines ..i am still skeptic !!

Thanks for entering the Young Illustrators Awards, we’d like to tell you that you made it to the long list of nominees. Consequently we hope you can join us at Direktorenhaus, for A Night at The Opium Den, it’s part of the Illustrators Night celebrations

ILLUSTRATIVE

The Swatch Young Illustrators Award, the world’s most important prize for contemporary illustration, will be awarded on November 5th at Direktorenhaus, Berlin. The nominees and the guests from the international creative industries are being welcomed with a grand gala dinner. The jury, consisting of renowned publicists and art experts, will present prizes to the winners in the categories of illustration, animation and book art.

This unique event, initiated by Illustrative, invites exchange between artists, art directors, journalists and creatives allowing discussion and celebration of illustration in its widest sense. The night includes performances, the new exhibition and of course further surpri- ses that culminate in an afterparty. It promises to be a glittering night for the international illustration community. The Direktorenhaus, developed by Illustrative’s initiators Pascal Johanssen and Katja Kleiss as a space for contemporary applied arts and experimental design in Berlin, serves as the perfect setting.

The Illustrators Night is an alluring foretaste of what’s to come at Illustrative, the biggest festival for contemporary illustration and graphic arts, which will take place for the sixth time in May 2010, in Berlin.
International artists may still submit their work to the Swatch Young Illustrators Award as the deadline is October 22nd 2010. The award encourages and supports designers in their artistic practice and provides artists with an internationally recognized platform. The winners of the award belong to the most interesting illustrators of 2010/11 and will be part of 60 international artists exhibiting more than 600 art works at the next Illustrative in May 2011. The winners will also receive prizes amounting to 6.000 Euros in publications and contracts with agencies, as well as the chance of designing a limited edition for Swatch.

5. November 2010, 19.00 Uhr
(invited guests only)

Grand Opening

From 10 pm doors will open for the Grand Opening of the new exhibition “Opium Den“. The exhibition stretches across the two upper floors and hidden spots inside the house. Inside the building itself, a hermetic world made of hints and quotations from Schuiten’s graphic complete works emerges: the mystical cities. Das Direktorenhaus becomes one single vegetative system that is being made usable by many temporary inhabitants.
